About Winestein

Winestein is a patent-pending point-of-decision system. Founder and CEO, Brett Marggraff developed the Wine Advice Device in 2005. As a former executive in the hospitality industry and presently a wine retailer, and like most retailers, he understands the fundamental value of being able to provide consumers with accurate and timely information.

Winestein was developed out of the need for quick, up-to-date and accurate consumer information at the retail level. Shopping for wine tends to produce anxiety for many people. For consumers, Winestein is a friendly, approachable self-serve option that encourages novice drinkers to explore the wine section with confidence. What's more, even knowledgeable repeat buyers are assured world-class wine information that sometimes isn't even available on the Internet.

The system works well in large box stores where labor costs are an important concern; in grocery stores where knowledgeable staff is unheard of; and in smaller stores where owners' time and resources are at a premium.

The amount of information in the market makes it virtually impossible for any retail establishment to compile, sort, update vintages and distribute appropriate information on their own. For example, New York might be selling Sterling Chard 2003, but Connecticut may already have the 2004 vintage. Winestein organizes this information and alleviates the burden on the retailer in an exciting, fun, and profitable way.
